Stormy did his winning and set his records in the days when most
of the Sporting Group entries rivaled the total entry of today's
shows - the days when 3 day shows were uncommon - the days of
such Sporting Group notables as Finn, Junior and Watson... It
would be interesting to compare the actual number of dogs he
defeated in his career with the same figure for today's top
winning shorthairs. His record as top winning Shorthair
stood for many years...

With the exception of the Bermuda shows and a couple of other
times he was always breeder/owner handled, or shown by one of my
daughters, both here and in the States.

He started his show career at 6 months and a few
days old and came away from his first weekend out with a Best
Puppy in Show!
He finished as a puppy and took time out to mature before
going out as a special. In the intervening months we had
fun going to the States and picking up all but his last major.

He loved to show - especially in the Group and for Best in Show, when
the rings were big and he could move. And he really turned on for
applause - back with the ears, up with the head and fly around the ring!

But he was so much more than a show dog.
He was my best
friend for all the years that we had together.
Calm,
sane and biddable he was the ideal house dog, gentle and loving
with his family and fearlessly protective of us all. He
would act the clown to amuse his people, but clothed himself in
dignity for others.
If there is a heaven he's there waiting...
