Our approach to breeding was always scientific - based on exhaustive study of pedigrees and a sound knowledge of correct conformation and type!  Our approach to the dogs that we kept was more emotional than scientific.  While we might not always have kept the best from our litters we did keep the ones who wagged their way into our hearts (Isn't that what having dogs is all about?).  These four kids top the list...

     Ch. Cedarpark Charisma

From a litter of 2, orphaned at 2 days old she was always special to us, but more so to Monica, who fell in love with her and demanded (tearfully) that we keep her.  I never regretted it - she was a "Star".

She was "poetry in motion" - watching her move was watching the way a shorthair should move.

With limited showing as a special she picked up a good number of BoB's (including a Specialty), some Groups and group placeings and lots of BoS to her daddy!

Bred only once she produced 3 champions and retired to attend University in Ottawa with Monica.

A beautiful lady...

He was called Mr.Personality when he was a baby, and we bought him back from an owner who didn't appreciate him when he was a little over 2 years old.

With a bit of weight and lots of love he blossomed into the personality plus dog he had been as a youngster.  Typey, compact and good moving he finished easily, and shown several times as a special he always won the breed and got a piece of the group.

He could have been a very successful special, but we were beginning to phase out of the show scene...

Because he was one of Sky's babies Michelle adopted him as her own, and Kurt moved to Toronto with her to attend Ryerson!

Always a gentleman...

A bird dog supreme - this solid liver lady showed them all that Cedarpark dogs could hunt!

I had always wanted a solid liver, and this lady, with her beautiful dark eyes and liver pigment was the epitome of a correct dual type shorthair.

She was a Stormy daughter x a solid liver bitch imported from England and she was born to hunt.

She finished under Bob McKowan at the GSPC of Eastern Canada Specialty but was never shown as a special and was never bred.

She left us to live out her days as the full time companion and cherished hunting dog of a very good friend.

She was a character...

Rabbit wasn't a great show dog but he was very special to us. A sweeter dog you will never find.

Finishing easily but never shown as a special, he had a pedigree to die for, and bred to The Bird he produced the gorgeous bitch that still holds the record as top winning GSP puppy!

He was one of Star's only litter (x Fieldfine's Count Rambard) - born the day of his grandfather's first BIS - and Melanie's very good friend and companion.

Together they won the Ontario Junior Showmanship finals, and when Melanie moved to London to attend Western Rabbit went with her.

Thank you Rabbit...
