In the early 80s Cedarpark quietly slipped from the dog scene after 20 some years devoted to Shorthairs.

Career moves and life style changes meant that participation would no longer be possible (Apartment living and litters just don't go together!).

The brief span of years allotted to dogs had taken Bird and Sky and my beloved Stormy.  The girls all had their "kids" living with them.  Brat went to a good friend as his well loved companion and hunting buddy.  And Piggy moved to Mississauga and a career in computers with me.

In terms of show ring success was Cedarpark a "one shot wonder"?  

Well, yes and no.  Yes, in that Stormy was the only one to set great records as a special.  But definitely no, when you consider that Star (Charisma), Kurt (Dust Storm) and Ms. Piggy (Hallmark) could all have been great specials - except that we were still campaigning Stormy!

There will be no more Shorthairs for me - none could ever fill the place of those who have gone before...
